As guitarists we are thinking more about the singer, we say the singer is the maestro, we have to follow the singer, except in between two verses or even in the middle of a verse where you can play a little rasgueo to introduce the end of the verse. Typically for a Seguiriya, the singing is very unorthodox when it comes to the rhythm. There's a bit quite free, although in some parts the rhythm comes through. The falseta I play in the middle, enabling the singer to catch his breath, is rhythmical. I will play in detail slowly the typical basic Seguiriya rhythm as well as 7 falsetas as exercises for you to study".

Moraíto Chico, the greatest exponents of ‘Jerez’ flamenco.
Manuel Moreno Junquera 'Moraíto Chico’ ( September 13th, 1956 - August 10th, 2011) was born in the gipsy quarter Barrio Santiago in Jerez de la Frontera. As the son of Juan Morao (Juan Moreno Jiménez, 1935–2002) and nephew of Manuel Morao, important guitarists of the Jerez school, Moraíto started his career at the age of 10 in 1966, taking part in the'Jueves Flamencos' at the Plaza de Toros in Jerez at the annual festival which his uncle, Manuel Morao, organised. In 1980 he became a member of the ensemble of the tablao "Los Canasteros" in Madrid. His participation in the 'III Cumbre Flamenca de Madrid’ in 1986 was certainly a milestone in his artistic career.
Moralto, undoubtedly one of the best accompanying guitarists for cante, has worked with great singers such as José Mercé, Niña Pastori, Juncales de Jerez, Jose Soto ‘Sorderita’, Manuel Alejandro and Terremoto. His talent was rewarded with the most sought after prizes, among them the 'Premio Maximo del Concurso Nacional de Guitarra Flamenca de la Pena Los Cerníkalos de Jerez de la Frontera" (1972 and 1986) as well as the 'Copa Jerez', awarded by the 'Cátedra de Flamencologia y Estudios Folklóricos Andaluces' (1981 and 1983), the Charles Cros award (1993), Premio de la Asociación Nacional de Críticos de Arte Flamenco (1999) and best guitar accompanist in 2001. He also triumphed as soloist. In 1992 his album "Morao y Oro” was awarded the 'Grand Prix de l'Academie du Disque Français' in Paris. Moraíto’s second recording Morao, Morao, re-released by Nuevos Medios in 2005, was first released in 1999 and featured collaborations with Navajita Plateá, Los Marismeños, Luis El Zambo and María Vala.
Moraíto, eminent patron of young talents, was the most important representative of the modern school of Jerez. Above all his Bulerias, Jerez style par excellence, stand out for their unequalled, brilliant swing. As a soloist everything Moraíto played was infused with such a strong rhythmic power and an economy of expression. His last public performance was at the Flamenco Festival in Nimes in January 2011.
Moraito Chico’s legacy continues with his son, Diego del Morao, who has become a reputable Flamenco guitarist.
Femando Fernández Pantoja 'Fernando Terremoto’ was born in 1969 in Jerez de la Frontera. As the son of the legendary cantaor Fernando Fernández Monje ‘Terremoto' started his career as a guitarist when he was 13 years old. In 1989 he started singing in public at the 'Centro Cultural Don Antonio Chacón', accompanied by Moraíto. In 1990 he became a member of the ensemble of the tablao 'La Zambra' in Madrid.
Gifted with an extraordinary flamenco voice, his decision to turn to cante proved right. Quickly, Fernando Terremoto became one of the most sought-after young cantaores; he works with the best accompanying guitarists such as Moraíto, Tomatito and Juan Habichuela.
His outstanding talent was rewarded with the most prestigious awards. At the 'Bienal de Sevilla' in 1996 he won the 'Primer Premio de Cante' and at the 'Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco de Cordoba' in 1998 he triumphed winning prizes in 3 categories. To date, his discography comprises 'La herencia de la sangre' (1989), 'Cante de la Campiña' (1991) and 'Cosa natural' (1997). His cante, expression ofa unique profundity, overwhelming and subtle atthe same time, is ample proof that he lives up to his nickname Terremoto, ‘Earthquake'.
